Please fill in the RSVP form before April 1. This will help us estimate the catering requirements for the various days and arrange a location for watching the soccer on Sunday evening.
If you can only confirm your attendance at the last minute due to special circumstances (such as pregnancy), no problem! Just select the option "Not sure yet" on the form and fill it in again before June 1.
Has anything changed since you filled out the form? If so, please fill it out again!
Garlic allergy? No probs. You can also indicate this on the RSVP form. We will take this into account as much as possible throughout the weekend, together with the caterers.

At 10:00 p.m., the Dutch national team will play their first World Cup match against Japan. We’ll be watching it together at the château on a big screen. If you’re interested and it works out for you, you’re more than welcome to join us! But please don’t feel obligated—we totally understand if you’d rather head home on Sunday afternoon.
Travel & accommodation
There are only a limited number of rooms available in the château itself for family and a few friends; if you are among them, we will have informed you personally. There are also plenty of AirBnBs and a few hotels available in the immediate vicinity. You are also welcome to camp (free of charge) in the castle garden!
There are no Ubers, but there are taxis. We’ll arrange taxis from the castle to the accommodations (in Rethel and Bertoncourt) on Friday around 11:00 PM–11:30 PM and on Saturday night after the party between 2:00 AM and 4:00 AM. Would you like to go home at a different time? Please let us know, and we can extend the reservation (at your own expense). This taxi service only operates with reservations and payment in advance.
Yes, there are plenty of parking spaces. Follow the path from Entrée Mariage and drive to the end of the woods, until you can just see the castle.
You can check in on Friday starting around 3:00 PM. (We’ll probably still be getting things ready before then.)
You can check out on Sunday whenever you like. Soccer fans staying an extra night at the castle can stay until 11:00 AM on Monday morning.
There is no restaurant or proper kitchen in the château (though there is a large refrigerator). In addition to the catering on Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday afternoon, we will collectively provide drinks (including water; according to the owner, tap water is drinkable but not very tasty), snacks, fruit, and basic breakfast items (including coffee machines and milk). Is that not enough? Feel free to bring or buy your own supplies as well. Nearest supermarkets within driving distance: Carrefour Express Rethel (10 min), large Carrefour Rethel (15 min). Bakeries: Boulangerie Hardy (6 min, closed on Sundays), La P’tite (9 min).
- There are sheets and towels for everyone staying in a room.
- Campers: please bring your own towels! You are welcome to use one of the bathrooms (belonging to the guests staying in the rooms).
- There are no hair dryers or irons in the rooms. We do bring a hair dryer and a handheld steamer that anyone can borrow, but feel free to bring whatever you’d like yourself.

- If you have a small coffee maker or milk frother, please bring it along! Unfortunately, we don’t have any at the château. Just let us know if you’re bringing one, so we’ll know how many we have.
- And of course, your standard packing list and a good attitude :-).
No doubt about it! An app group has been created where this can be arranged.
- Champagne tasting! In addition to the large champagne houses, don't forget the smaller winegrowers. Here is our Google Maps list;
- Reims (40 min from Thugny-Trugny) is a great place for a day trip (beautiful cathedral, many restaurants, shops, cozy wine bar Le Clos);
- Rethel (7 min from Thugny-Trugny) is a charming village to stroll through or stop for a coffee.
- Hiking is also an option, of course!
The wedding
We are delighted to announce that our dear friends Niels, Iris, and Jonathan will be helping us make this a wonderful weekend! Niels will be officiating the ceremony (and is so amazing to be flying in from Australia for this). Iris and Jonathan will be our points of contact during the weekend and will be organising the program. Would you like to discuss something with them? See contact.
Yes, but preferably not during the ceremony, because we prefer everyone to live in the moment without phones. Don't worry: our amazing photographer Tirza will capture everything and share the photos afterwards!
We would prefer if no children/babies came along on Saturday, so that all attention can be focused on the party and the other guests. Our nieces Yara and Liz are exempt, as they have the important task of being ring bearers! If you are unable to find a babysitter, please let us know and we will help you find a solution.

– Friday, doors open between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
– Saturday, please arrive between 3:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.; the ceremony will start at 4:00 p.m.
– Sunday, brunch starts at 12:00 p.m. No problem if you're a little late (due to your hangover). We’ve been there!
You can submit your favorite song in advance using the RSVP form, and the bar is on the other side.
Your presence is, of course, the greatest gift: we are honored that you are willing to come all the way to France for us!
If you would still like to give us something, we would be very happy to receive something during our honeymoon in France (such as a dinner, overnight stay, wine tasting, coffee, or activity) with a personal card.
